Member of the Ecological Watch Council in the North Caucasus Yevgeny Vitishko on Monday, was detained by police officers in Tuapse at the exit from the branch of the UFSIN of the UFSIN in the Krasnodar Territory, according to the Ekovakhta website. At first, the ecologist said that he was detained on suspicion of theft. Already in the department, the police accused the activist of allegedly cursing at the public transport stop. The ecologist was charged with Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (petty hooliganism), which may entail administrative arrest for up to 15 days. They took fingerprints from the ecologist and checked phones.
Vitishko is already a defendant in a criminal case, within the framework of which he faces a real term of imprisonment.
“There is reason to assume that Vitishko was detained in connection with the“ Olympic fire relay race planned for tomorrow ”, which will be held in Krasnodar. Perhaps the authorities are afraid that the“ Green ”shares can be held and, as in other cities of Russia, they began to carry out preventive“ stripping of “activists,” the Ekovacht statement.
On December 20, the judge of the Tuapse City Court of the Kuban Igor Milinchuk replaced Vitishko a conditional term for a three-year imprisonment in a colony-settlement. Prior to this, Vitishko was convicted for three years conditionally on charges of spoiling the fence in the country of the Kuban governor Alexander Tkachev. On November 6, he was issued a warning "about the violation of the regime for serving a sentence" for the fact that he did not notify the penal inspectorate about traveling outside the Tuapsinsky district.
The verdict of the eco -defender was sentenced by the Tuapse district court on June 20, 2012. Together with Vitishko, his colleague in Ekovakhta was condemned - Surena Gazaryan. Later, a new business was opened against Gazaryan, after which he fled from Russia and received a political officer in Estonia . In the future, the activist moved to Georgia.
In October, the deputy chairman of the Supreme Court Anatoly Tolkachenko abolished the sentence to Gazaryan and Vitishko and decided to initiate supervisory production on the presidium of the Krasnodar Chief of Kraisud. In the resolution, Tolkachenko indicated that the motives of the actions of eco -activists, named in the sentence by the hooligan, were not actually established. In addition, the court did not consider how legitimate the construction of the fence, allegedly damaged by ecologists, was.
However, on December 18, the Presidium of the regional City rejected the supervisory complaint , evaluating the decision of Tolkachenko as unreasonable. “In fact, the regional court recognized the decision of a higher court illegal,” Gazaryan noted in this regard. “It is inexplicably from the point of view of the law, but it is expected: in the territory of the region, the judiciary belongs to the governor Tkachev, like everyone else.”
