The opera repertoire of the Bolshoi Theater (Gabt) will be significantly updated, many old productions will be removed from the repertoire, its general director Vladimir Urin told reporters on Wednesday.
"There are large distortions in the repertoire. A very large number of repertoires - I mean the opera - these are performances that are 10-12 years old. And that today they actually have lost the level that needs to be kept. This is one of the serious tasks in all levels - starting with the conductor, including the performing. The performance is falling apart. There are two ways: either with an invitation of those who are inviting those who are inviting those who are inviting Created), or removing it from the repertoire, ” RIA Novosti quotes him.
The director promised to name all the performances that would be removed from the repertoire, along with the announcement of plans for the next season.
“I made a decision - we are making a large number of performances because we do not see the possibility of renewal. These performances have already died,” Urin summed up.
This season, a block of plays "Nabukko" was already canceled (the premiere took place in 2001, resumed in 2006). This production will disappear from the Gabta scene.
“It is very important to understand that we need a serious approach and a revision of the current repertoire. For some time we will find ourselves in a limited circle. But let the performances go at all than they go as today. We made a decision with the leadership of the opera, that Nabukko must be removed,” the director said.
He added that in the next season the life of the troupe as a whole will be very saturated. “In the next season, in fact, every month of the premiere,” he added.
Recall that after coming to the post of head of Gabta last summer, Vladimir Urin did not extend the contract with the head of the department of promising creative planning of the theater, Mikhail Fichtengoltz , who, in particular, was engaged in the formation of an opera repertoire. In addition, in December, the chief conductor Vasily Sinai quit his own free will, saying that it became "uninteresting and unbearable."
A collective agreement with artists will be accepted in March
According to Urin, a collective agreement that all artists of the Bolshoi Theater will have to sign is planned to be accepted in late March. The director said that every Monday the commission is found and discusses the project.
"We are moving extremely slowly, every item is a subject for discussions. At the last meeting on Monday, I concluded that I had a very interesting feeling. When we sat down at the negotiating table a month and a half ago, I had a feeling of a serious confrontation. Only my own interests of the parties. Time has passed, the tone of the conversation has changed. 3100 people, ”added the director of the theater.
The idea to develop new labor rules for all employees of the Bolshoi Theater has been born for a long time, since the work of Gabta artists involves an irregular working day, injury hazard, loss of work due to injury, everyone has different employment in performances and many other nuances - all of them should be spelled out in a new collective labor contract.
Tickets will appear for standing seats for 100 rubles
The Bolshoi Theater plans to introduce the practice of selling inexpensive entrance tickets to standing seats - just like in Western theaters, Gabta General Director Vladimir Urin told reporters on Wednesday.
“In the summer, we will carry out a number of works on the dismantling of places on the historical scene, where very poor visibility,” Urin said. “And instead we plan to make standing seats. People will know that this is an entrance ticket, without a place. It will cost cheaply - about 2 euros, as in Western theaters.” The theater director clarified that it is planned to dismantle 247 seats. They want to introduce the practice of sales of standing places from the next season.
“Let's see how many people can stand there,” Urin said. “This number of places will enter the financial plan, but there will be a certain number of these places.”
Sergey Filin will be reported about dismissal for the year
According to Urin, he intends to notify people who occupy leading posts in the theater, on the extension or non -transmission of their contracts a year before the end of their action. In particular, Sergey Filin's artistic director learn about whether he will work after 2016 a year before this date.
“We agreed on this. We talked with Sergey in detail. It was a difficult, difficult conversation, Sergey Yuryevich was very nervous. In fact, we honestly said - during this period, if there were no emergency incidents - everything that concerns the contract. And I promise that a year before the end of his contract, I will warn him that his contract will not be extended,” Urin said.
