On the eve of the Olympics in Sochi, hundreds of homeless animals were killed. In the spring of 2013, the city hall announced a tender for the "disposal" of stray dogs and cats. Local civilian activists conducted a picket against such a decision, demanding not to destroy animals, but to open a shelter and put them there. Soon, the city authorities reported that the tender for "utilization" failed, since not a single application was submitted to him. In addition, officials promised to open a shelter. However, in fact, animals began to be destroyed.
On the eve of Moscow, several shares were held against the Olympics. At the Komsomolskaya metro station, Ekaterina Ryzhova was detained - one of the activists who deployed the banner "there are no thieves' Olympics in the country of political repressions!" . Together with her, the correspondent of the "faces" was detained by Andrei Novichkov.
Later, the police tore off the action from the Olympic clock under the slogan "Boycot Cockaliad in a police state!" . The activists could not approach the clock because of the triple cordon of the police. In total, 14 people were detained at the National Hotel, including a photographer and seven random passers -by. Later on Friday , 10 LGBT activists, including two subjects of Sweden, were detained on Red Square. They came out with rainbow flags and sang the Russian anthem. This action was also supposed to be held at the Olympic watches, but the police were waiting for the participants already at the exit of the gathering - from the cafe "Chocolate" on the GUM Katka. As a result, I had to start immediately on Red Square. The action lasted no more than a minute.
