The co-chair of the RPR-Parnas Vladimir Ryzhkov and 15 members of its federal political council left the party. It is reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to the politician itself. The reason for this decision, Ryzhkov called the introduction of resolutions that were not agreed upon in advance on the Saturday meeting.

The first of these resolutions involves the removal of Ryzhkov from the post of executive secretary of the RPR -Parnas and the appointment of Konstantin Merzlikin, a supporter of the other two parties of the party, Boris Nemtsov and Mikhail Kasyanov. The second document is condemned by Ryzhkov and his supporters for "causing political damage to the party."

The conflict in the leadership of the RPR-Parnas has recently been reported by different publications. In mid -January, the “Independent Gazeta” wrote that Ryzhkov demanded from Nemtsov and Kasyanov to take a more moderate position in relations with the Kremlin , to refuse to cooperate with the leader of the folk alliance Alexei Navalny, as well as exclude Ilya Yashin from the Federal Political Council. Nemtsov and Kasyanov rejected these requirements. The newspaper already reported that Ryzhkov at the February meeting of the political council could leave the party.

Kommersant later noted that the conflict has not only an ideological, but also a hardware background: Ryzhkov seeks the right to block the decisions of his colleagues.

On January 21, it became known that Ryzhkov was creating a new party - "Republicans of Russia". The authorized person of the party organizing committee on the Ministry of Justice’s website is named Assistant Politician Vladimir Koptsev. The organizing committee began work on December 28, 2013, and on December 31 the corresponding notice was received by the ministry.

The RPR-Parnas was formed in June 2012 as a result of the association of the Party of People's Freedom (Parnas) and the Republican Party of Russia. A month earlier, the Ministry of Justice restored the state registration of the RPR, which she was deprived of in 2007. In August 2012, the United Party of the RPR-Parnas also received registration.
