Sergey Gordeev was supposed to appear: Russian children grow up in a too aggressive environment

The psychological dysfunction of Russian adolescents of the 2000s is an obvious phenomenon
It is still difficult to believe in the reality of what happened on February 3 at a regular Moscow school. The armed teenager shoots at the teachers and police officers, takes hostages of his own class students - we habitually thought that the “American tragedy” looked like this, and did not allow the thought that this could happen with us. We were mistaken.
You can talk about the commitment to traditional values as much as you like, but - suddenly there is an event that directly and rudely makes you understand: living in a globally changing world, you can not fence off from it, evade its challenges, and avoid its dangers. “And it has come to us” - they write in a living magazine.
It is impossible to disagree with the Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin, who noticed that the tragic events similar to what happened in the 263rd school is very difficult to prevent. But they must be discussed and explained in order to reduce the possibility of their repetition. This is evidenced by the experience of other countries, and above all the United States. According to their own admission, there is no solution to the problem, but at least the main areas in which you can act: restriction of access to weapons and special attention to the mental health of adolescents, discussing deep causes and specific circumstances directly related to cases of armed violence in schools.
In Russia, where free access to firearms is not allowed, a schoolboy armed with a carbine and a rifle, committed a serious one, but, as the deputy of the Yarovaya, a “atypical” crime for Russia put it. This seems to be based on the reaction of the Russian and Moscow authorities: to take operational measures and “close the topic” - especially since the crime occurred almost on the eve of the opening of the Olympiad in Sochi.
"
In developed Western countries, the level of depression of adolescents does not exceed 5%, in Russia it is close to 20%
"
While the president has hope for the ennoble power of theatrical, dramatic, musical art and the development of artistic taste, State Duma deputies are developing a whole arsenal of restrictive and prohibitive measures. Including - to strengthen the requirements for the safety of firearms, tighten the responsibility of its owners, strengthen safety in schools (proposing, however, to force students to pay for schools without fail). And they also tell us about the “aggressive trend” of computer games and suggest legislatively prohibiting the demonstration of violence scenes, primarily on television. In Moscow, they are going to re -play psychologists and strengthen their preparation, although, as the mayor of Sobyanin noted, "the psychologist did not notice any deviations from this guy and did not take any measures."
However, you need to understand: each of these initiatives, implemented in life, will have consequences, far from always related to the prevention of adolescence crimes.
What to do?
Although all famous media and numerous experts spoke about the tragedy in the Moscow school, the public seems to also not really understand what to discuss and how to act. All possible measures are habitually sorted out-from repressive (the ban on computer games, restriction of access to the Internet, censorship in relation to showing on television and even the ban on some Hollywood films) and authoritarian and educational (labor therapy for adolescents, strict, “male” education, strengthening the role of ideology and Orthodox religion at school) to liberal (good school psychologists in school and emotional contact of teachers and parents with children).
But the discussion does not work: what journalists told about the family in which Sergei Gordeev grew up these days is more likely to cause confusion and bewilderment.
It is known that according to statistics, 85% of adolescents who have committed offenses came out of dysfunctional and, most often, low -income families. But this family looks quite prosperous, moreover, successful. The boy was completely busy with study, went to the gold medal. So this is just a mental breakdown? Or a disease hidden for the time being, which manifested suddenly and monstrous? And if so, does it make sense to discuss a tragic special case from the life of one Moscow family and one Moscow school ...
The reasons for the shooting that Sergei Gordeev had, specialists - psychologists and psychiatrists will find out. But now it is clear: it may happen again. Understanding that the psychological dysfunction of the Russian teenagers of the 2000s is an obvious and typical phenomenon. The essence of this phenomenon is the spread of violence, which has deep, branched roots that penetrate the family and school. The “atypical” case of the Moscow schoolchild Sergey Gordeev is about it. But Russian society is not ready for such a conversation.
Fear of failure
If in developed Western countries the level of depression of adolescents does not exceed 5%, then in Russia it is close to 20%. According to surveys, Russian teenagers do not feel physically healthy. Sociologists and demographers record that in adolescents 15-19 years of mortality rate from suicide are three times higher than the average -I average and five times higher than on average in Europe. In Russia, the share of deaths from the so -called “external causes” in the structure of mortality of children and adolescents is unreasonably high. In 2009, it amounted to 49% in children 1-14 years old and 72% in adolescents 15-19 years old. Sociologist Irina Shurygina, who conducted this study, concludes: high mortality from random injuries indicates that Russian children live in an environment that can be characterized as hostile, aggressive in relation to them, and are constantly in a situation of potential danger.
Studies conducted in the early 2000s showed that the parents of the current teenagers, who for a long time have been under the oppression of fear of not cope with life (impoverish, lose their jobs, get sick), emotionally devastated, become irritable and aggressive. Parents have another strong social fear: the failure of children. A child who is not prepared for school or does not cope well with school requirements may not withstand competition and ultimately be a loser. Hardly focusing on the model of an “obedient and successful child”, parents strive to please the requirements of society - incomprehensible and frightening themselves. Constant stress and irritation that they experience easily turn into the cruelty and frank suppression of the personality of the child. At the beginning of the zero years, the outstanding Swiss psychologist Alice Miller wrote “an open letter to all responsible political figures”. Her letter ends with a warning about the danger of violence: “Violence against a child gives rise to a prone to violence, a sick society. This government refuses humiliation as a means of influence. Its means of managing society - discussion and understanding, trust, understanding, protection of the weak. She will give the child protection and help, and when he grows up, she will turn into a responsible adult who will be alien to revenge, war and dictatorship, who will want to return to others what he himself once received from his educators: protection and respect. ” Where will we get such power?
