Education of university students under the training program for soldiers and sergeants of reserve will begin in September 2015. According to RIA Novosti, this said Deputy Minister of Defense Nikolai Pankov.

Students who have expressed a desire to undergo military training as an alternative to a call service will pass 450 hours of theoretical training, as well as three -month military training camps. They will be issued a military ID of a soldier or sergeant of the reserve.

"The first stage in the introduction of a new form of military training - the development of the regulatory framework and training at the existing military departments - will begin in 2014," Pankov said at a meeting with students in Petropavlovsk -Kamchatsky.

And from September 2015, according to him, students will begin to teach students under the training program for soldiers and sergeants of reserve.

Now the limited number of military departments (available in 72 universities) prevents the vast majority of university students to undergo military training during the study. After studying, they are called up for service on a common basis - more than 60 thousand people annually.

The new form of military training involves the opportunity to go to her student in an educational institution, which has a military department, in a military unit or military school center of the Ministry of Defense.
