The court refused to soften Tymoshenko's detention regime

The Kominternovsky District Court of Kharkiv rejected the complaint of the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko about the refusal by the commission of the Kachanivka correctional colony No. 54 to soften the regime of detention, UNIAN reports .

When making the decision, the judge took into account the opinion of representatives of the colony and prosecutors, who stated during the hearing that the decision of the commission of the Kachanovsky colony on refusing to soften the regime of the ex-premier, adopted on January 17 this year, is legal and justified.

At the same time, the judge said that a year after Tymoshenko's refusal, she could again apply for a regime mitigation. Also, the decision adopted today can be appealed within a week after its announcement.

The former prime minister was found guilty in October 2011 of exceeding her powers when signing contracts for Russian gas supplies in 2009 and sentenced to 7 years in prison. Tymoshenko has been in the Kachanivska colony since December 2011.
