Perm Choir, Chernyakov and Krentzis apply for Opera Awards

A list of nominees of the Opera Awards 2014 International Opera Award. Among them are the Musicaeterna choir of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater, director Dmitry Chernyakov and conductor Theodore Krentzis.

Competition of the Musicaeterna choir in the “Best Choir” nomination will be collected by the groups of the Bayroit festival, German opera (Berlin), the Metro-Opera (New York), the Welsh National Opera and the Opera Festival in Wexford.

In addition to Dmitry Chernyakov, the directorial nomination for Opera Awards 2014 is claimed by Kalisto Bieito (Spain), Tatyana Gürbach (Germany), Barry Koski (Australia), Martin Kushi (Austria) and Graham Vic (UK).

In the category “Best Conductor”, along with Theodor Krentzis, Mark Elder (Great Britain), Andris Nelson (Latvia), Dzhanandrea Noseda (Italy), Kirill Petrenko (Austria) and Simon Young (Australia) are nominated.

In addition, the applicants for Opera Awards 2014 included singer Anna Netrebko and the Mariinsky label disc with the opera Prokofiev, who recently received the International Classical Music Awards .

The names of applicants for the award were determined by the jury compiled from leading critics and opera figures, chaired by the editor -in -chief of Opera John Ellison.
