The main award of the 64th International Film Festival in Berlin - the Golden Bear - was awarded the thriller "Black Coal, Thin Ice" (Bai Ri Yan Huo) of the Chinese director Yinaan Diao, the Russian BBC service reports.

The winning picture talks about a former policeman who is investigating a series of mysterious murders in China. The police go in search of killers. Two of the police are dying, the third receives serious injuries. The survivor leaves the police and is settled to work as a guard. Five years later, another series of mysterious murders takes place. "Black coal, thin ice" was also marked by the "silver bear" of Berlinale - Liao Fan, who played the main role in the film, received the prize as the best actor.

The triumph of Chinese cinema on Berlinal did not end there: the film operator Jian Jen Zen won the prize for the best operator work in the film "TUI Na), ITAR-TASS notes.

The best actress of the jury was called the Japanese movie star Haru Kuroki, who starred as a maid in the film "Little House" (Chiisai Ouchi) directed by Yoji Yamada.

The Silver Bear for the best directorial work was received by American Richard Linklater for the drama "Boyhood). The film was enthusiastically adopted by the audience of Berlinale. Representatives of Germany also did not be left without prizes: Anna and Dietrich Bruggemanne won in the category "Best Scenario". They were awarded the “Silver Bear” for the film “Kreuzweg”, telling about a 14-year-old girl who lives according to the teachings of the priestly fraternity of St. Pius XII and their traditional interpretation of Catholicism. The tape was also awarded a special prize of an independent ecumenical jury.
