AC/DC will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the album and tour

Hevi-Matal veterans AC/DC will record a new album and go on tour, in the program of which there will be exactly 40 concerts-in honor of the 40th anniversary of the group.

The AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson told about this on the air of the American radio station Gater 98.7 ,Rolling Stone reports.

Work on a new plate will begin in May in Vancouver. This will be the first album of the group since 2008, when its 14th studio album was released, Black Ice . After that, AC/DC for 20 months was continuously concerts around the world, the total audience “Black Ice World Tour” amounted to more than 5 million people.

“Four years have passed since then,” Johnson said, answering a question about anniversary tour. “Of course, we have been old, but we can’t wait to hit the road again.”

AC/DC were formed in Sydney in 1973, in 1975 the group released the debut album, "High Voltage" . After the death of the first vocalist AC/DC Bona Scott in 1980, Brian Johnson took his place. To date, more than 200 million copies of AC/DC records have been sold around the world.
