- To you now, after Berlin , probably a lot of attention?

-Well, yes, it so happened that this time we were the only Russian film on Berlinal, so everyone calls, they ask something. But this, in fact, is not what I would like. And I would like to make a large animated film. And I'm looking for ways to do it.

- And “my personal elk” is small or big?

- Big, sixteen minutes. Small is five minutes. While I had been waiting for a year that I would receive money for the “moose”, I just withdrew one of them.

- Did you withdraw without money?

- For animation, you do not need a set, cameras, actors, women with a cracker. I did all my films in a five -meter room. We also need, of course, sound, composer, sound engineer, but in the last film I did almost everything myself. And there are also good people who, if you make a movie for free, also help you for free.

- How in this case multipliers earn?

- The Ministry of Culture supports the author’s animation, the director can shoot cartoons and live on it. We also take off the advertisement sometimes, we work in the series. I try to do everything for pleasure. I also draw books. The latter are for the Publishing House "KOMPASGID": I was lucky that they gave me to illustrate Bernard Frio, a very good French writer.

- And you first began to draw up books or make cartoons?

- I graduated from printing as an illustrator. Then he took up animation. But it became successful to illustrate books after he graduated from the Shar school. Now it turns out to combine everything.

- Do you follow what cartoons are now showing in cinemas? In my opinion, they are not very good.

- I don't watch these films. I have children, I only select for them a movie that I am sure. We look at the old Disney. I myself grew up on this and the older I become, the more I love. I am not against our animated cinema. It just happened that we have been working in this area not very long ago. There were no large animated films on Soyuzmultfilm.

“But there were brilliant animated series?”

- They were cool, they were worse, and they were very bad. Now as a professional I understand this.

- The plot of "moose" is a sad story about the relationship of dad and son. Is this a cartoon for adults?

- This is a film about love. About the difficulties of love. I do not divide the audience to adults and children: I showed him to my daughter and was pleased with her reaction.

- Why elk?

- WITH There was such a story: we rode along the road from Helsinki to St. Petersburg. Either a piece of forest, then a field. Every time the forest begins, there is a sign with a moose. And I caught myself thinking that this sign is a prelude to what would appear soon. I did not load the image of the moose with any additional meanings.

- You have, besides the moose, the giraffe also flickered up ...

- And what is the relevant giraffe? Excuse me, I'm not aware of the news.
