The All -Russian Society for the Protection of Nature intends to submit an application to law enforcement agencies on the fact of illegal hunting for an elk to the leader of the Party of Progress, Alexei Navalny. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the deputy chairman of the organization on legal issues Lyubov Duiko.
Duiko called the reason for the appeal a photo in which Navalny, along with other men, poses in the forest next to the carrion of the moose. The season of hunting for this beast begins on October 15. Meanwhile, Duiko noted, "if you look at the photograph, it is clear that the hunt took place in the summer."
Punishment for poaching is provided for in Article 258 of the Criminal Code. The sanction under Part 1 of this article is up to six months of arrest, in part 2 - up to two years in the colony. According to Duyko, Part 2 of this article of Navalny can be attracted if the investigation proves the fact of poaching committed by an organized group.
A photo of Navalny with a carcass of moose was published in social networks at the latest since July 2012. It was then that the picture appeared on the blog of the former press secretary of "our" Christina Podment.

Earlier, in an interview with Esquire magazine, Navalny stated that he loved hunting, but called himself "rather a theoretical hunter." “In my entire life, I killed only a black grouse and a wood -free,” he said.
Meanwhile, in August 2009, when he was the adviser to the governor of the Kirov region, Nikita Belykh, Navalny told in his blog about participation in duck hunting . “I hit four times, and took out only two from the water,” he admitted.
