- “The Bird of the ZU” does not release the album and does not go to the tour - what then are we celebrating?

- Recently, we have not performed anywhere at all. About two years ago they played in China Town Cafe - and that’s it.

-And before that there was a concert at 16 tons in 2006.

- Exactly. And today I remembered when it was, - I tried to count. Eight years have passed! Although eight - not ten, already good.

- I want to ask you about the "Bird of the Zo" in detail. Because everyone always knew that Yura Tsarle plays in Mumiy Troll, and - nothing more. Where did she come from, this "bird" came up?

- If you tell from the very beginning, then in 1991 I graduated from school and immediately went to a music school. As a matter of fact, then the first songs of the "birds" have already appeared.

- It seemed to me that the “bird” is such Ural Jackson 5 .

- Well, in general, yes. Dad, I, my brother Oleg. Then, we still have a cousin Stanislav, with whom, in fact, we came up with a “bird”. And there are also cousins ​​Igor and Vladislav. But they connected later; In 1991, they were still very small.

- And now how many tsalers are there in the "Bird"?

- Three. Dad is now quit smoking - he is hard for him. Vladislav is very busy - he studies in Gnesinka and plays on the pipe of the singer of the Christmas tree. Igor still lives in Pervouralsk and works as a journalist. Do you know the Ural Airlines? So he makes a magazine for them. We even have an album called “ Besttsaler ” (by analogy with the “bestseller”) - six or five years ago, we released it, if I am not mistaken.

- That is, the name of the Besttsaler record , but it was signed - from whom?

- The family of the royalists: Vladislav, I, Oleg and Dad. All six compositions are father. We also attracted the pianist Ivan Farmakovsky, who even played in Mumiy Trolle, or two and a half years, the bassist Anton Revolutionary and drummer Alexander Machi. I think these are one of the pillars of our modern jazz, giants, I am not afraid of this word! It turned out everything quite funny and dignified. I recently listened - I really liked it.

- I looked into Wikipedia, and there it is written about you that you began to speak with the “Bird of the Zub” “in the famous bar of the city”. What was this place in Pervouralsk?

- So it is written? Well, at one time, my father and I were residents of a very gangster place called “Cogue”. Pervouralsk was generally the first in banditry of the suburbs of Yekaterinburg. In the "cellar" they could also borne, in fact. 92nd year, what do you want? I recently recalled: I got there a couple of times in my face. It was just that visitors to give at the end it was like “hello” to say - they were not even offended. They came from somewhere in such an emotional mood, went to the cafe and fought, fired. Romance - yes. Then no one had money, in general, the time was very difficult, so the work was not particularly chosen. But there I earned the first to my guitar.

- And around the same years they received from Pyotr Nikolayevich Mamonov, as I understand it, almost an offer to work together.

“All this happened after our first record“ Old Virgo from Young Cavaliers ”came out in 1991.” We recorded it in Yekaterinburg, at the studio of Alexander Novikov, the stars of the Russian chanson (“Vezi me, a cabman, along a pound of a pavement”). He affectionately called us “Beatles”. He came to the studio and asked: "Well, Beatles?" In the studio itself, Alexei Khomenko, the first keyboard player of Nautilus Pompilius, helped us. Unfortunately, I have preserved the only copy of this album, and so I would, of course, give you. They say that Novikov’s studio has a whole box, and I all want to take it somehow from there. In short, it was this record that we had to rewrite with Mamonov in Moscow.

“So, how did Mamonov learn about you?”

- In Komsomolskaya Pravda, a competition was announced like "Peter Mamonov is looking for talents." I called: "Hello, girl, I have my own group." Then he sent them a cassette, and the "bird of the Zo" entered the three strongest. Then they called me back, gave Mamonov’s phone - Peter liked it. I talked with Mamonov: "X-h-x-h-khorosh, b-b-b-b-b-we will write." And then, as I understand it, a creative impulse happened: either shooting, or a record. His wife Olga told me: "Peter was sick of us - while we are only thinking what to do."

- Are you upset?

“I don’t remember, to be honest.” At the same time, we already had some negotiations with Fee Lee Records Igor Tonski, whom we were introduced to Vladimir Shahrin. We performed at the regeneration contest, arranged by the Sverdlovsk rock club, which was already coming to, and Shahrin and Beganov directly approached us and asked: "How can we help?" After that, they took us to Moscow, introduced us to the Thin, with Groysman Dima. But - nothing happened, they did not take us into circulation then. We performed before "The leg was reduced!" (then Ramamba-Khara-Mamburum was still not a hit) in the Moscow club "Moskovsky" on Tverskaya either on the 35th anniversary, or on the 33rd anniversary of Sergei Galanin. “And what we dream, but only the light is in the window” - yes, all this sounded. Of course, I wanted to fuck at least some resonance, but in the hall no one felt our talent, and we left the next day back to our place, there. And there we have a bassist suddenly died, the composition changed. But this is not even the point. The group disappeared, and I decided to go to conquer Moscow. He collected backpacks, blessings asked dad with his mother. They said: "Of course, of course, you have nothing to do here, son." They gave money-they scrape something in the susks-and I left.

- So you already knew everyone here - there was nothing to be afraid of.

- Well, for example, I knew for sure that my friend Pavel Antonov, who at one time was the administrator of Nautilus Pompilius and our entire Sverdlovsk wing. It was 1996-it was necessary to somehow earn. The guitarist from the Bird of the ZU played in the Woodstock cafe, in the Camergers Lane next to the Chekhov Theater, now there is a cafe of Kameron. There was a powerful place. And we, we can say, were his tapers - three departments for forty minutes, evergreen classic in instrumental processing. Money earned small ones, but absolutely free they stared at celebrities who went to Woodstock. There were Garik (Sukachev. - Ed. ), And Kolya Noskov. I remember that Voznesensky with Akhmadulina came in, and we played “ Feelings ” for them. There I met a large fraction - just before he left. All this lasted two months. On one hot day, the club administration asked us to play on the street: “Nobody goes to the club, guys. Go straight to the chamberlain, play a little there. ” We went out, began to play, and the inhabitants of the surrounding houses called the police. I remember someone whispered to us, and we managed to assemble all the equipment. And shortly after that, my duo partner suddenly realized that he did not want to study music, and went back to the Urals, and I stayed. Pasha Antonov introduced me to Ilya Kormiltsev: “Why don't you teach Ilya to teach the guitar? He wants to study. " And I went to teach to play the guitar of Kormiltsev twice a week. We talked a lot. He fed me - he gave $ 100 per month. And I all asked: “Take me on the true path, Ilya,” I teach you to the guitar, and you give me some books. ” As I remember now, he gave Plato.

- And what exactly?

- Maybe the "state" - I do not remember for sure. Through Kormiltsev, I, in fact, met Sasha Kushnir (this was all one company), and Kushnir was familiar with Lenya Burlakov. “Mumiy Troll” by that time had already released the “sea” record and prepared “caviar”. One fine day, Kushnir calls and (as usual, in the bustle) explains: “So and so, Lenya Burlakov, have you heard at least what they are doing?” And by that time I did not have what I heard, but even two clips I saw: “Cat-Kota” and “Press”. “In principle, not the worst option,” I answer Kushnir, “but I would have changed something there.” He is to me: "Excellent - then you have material and photography."

- Photo? Face control? On the other hand, and what is amazing here is a girl’s group.

- I also thought so and sent them the recording of “Birds of the Zo” and a photo where I am fishing with a fishing rod. They called back three days later: "Prepare a passport, get together on tour." I had to go to Yekaterinburg, make a passport through friends for frantic money ...

“You tell, and I understand that it was a good time.”

- Yes, good. Almost the whole world saw, for which I was very grateful to everyone.

- So why are you left from Mumiy Troll?

- The Mumiy Troll has another topic now - electrical experiments. And I have been wearing everyone recently, I guess. I'm a little conservative.

- So you did not want to experiment?

- Not really. We just parted in these experiments. You see, I have for these sixteen years that Lagutenko and I have spent a lot of blanks, which we need to work and work with. Why am I so eager to leave, free myself from the Mumiy Troll team? I want to do something of my own. And in parallel it did not work out.

- Well, which is already “parallel” there. You lived on trains, planes. Even on the ship for some time.

- Yes. As my mother correctly noticed: "You are not a sailor, son, you are a musician."

- And how much did you live on a boat (May 20 last year, Mumiy Troll, on Sedov’s sailboat, went to the roundabout. - Ed. )?

- In fact, there are not so many. The longest transition took ten days. But for me it was difficult. The first three days there was simply drunkenness with the commander of the ship, and when they left my strength, I tried to read the book. Well, what else to do there? Nothing. Well, you walked around the deck, well, looked at the open ocean. Yes, it’s beautiful, but you won’t look at the water on the water! And most importantly - it is impossible to invigorate. The pitching, treacherously invisible, immediately put to sleep. I managed to read the page - and my eyes were closed. It was then that I realized that I was not a sailor.

- And you went into your own circulation. And what is the plan?

- Just play music. It seems to me that this is my megaplan. The success of Elvis Presley, who has turned the world with his playing music - if this happens, I will not mind, of course.

- Will the “Bird of the Zh” will play rock?

- Not sure. Recently I want pure sound. To be honest, I am tired of rock with these fusic guitars, dirty chords. I would like not Shugizining, which we studied in the early 1990s, and something new, crystal. Actually, our first record that Mamonov liked was recorded just in the style of Shugaiz. This is now very, very many, and then we were the only ones and simply ahead of the time. Now, for example, it doesn’t matter to anyone whether you eat in Russian or English. The Internet erased this border. However, I are definitely inclined towards the Russian language, and recently thoughts are generally such that it would be nice to take up an instrumental genre, make pure music. We do not have a lot so far.

- You always repeat “pure”, “crystal”. And, I think, you mean not only the sound.

- Music without a generally accepted song form “Two verse, two refinements” ... or without a text component - that is, instrumental.
