
The Verkhovna Rada at an emergency meeting late in the evening on Thursday adopted a resolution on the termination of the operation of security forces against Euromaidan. It is reported by Ukrainian Pravda. 236 deputies of 238 gathered in the hall voted for the draft resolution.
On Friday morning, the document was signed by the speaker of the Rada Vladimir Rybak, who was absent at the meeting on February 20. After that, the document entered into force.
The document is called "On the condemnation of violence in Ukraine, which led to human victims." It was introduced by opposition "Fatherland", "freedom" and a blow. During the discussion, amendments proposed by the independent deputy Vladimir Litvin, Oleg Lyashko from the Radical Party Oleg Lyashko and the leader of Freedom Oleg Tyagnibok were made to the project.
The resolution provides for a ceasefire, the return of army units, internal troops and special forces to the places of constant deployment and the ban on the use of weapons against demonstrators. In addition, all authorities are prohibited from implementing the program of "anti -terrorism measures" of the SBU. Also prohibited by blocking transport communications and restriction of transportation.
The document also obliges to free all protests from the guards of all detained and arrested protests. The criminal prosecution of them should be terminated. On the other hand, the Prosecutor General’s Office is ordered to conduct a complete investigation of the facts of the death of demonstrators and violence in their regard.
Along with this, the Cabinet of Ministers and other authorities are obliged to provide the necessary assistance to the families of dead activists and to provide treatment to the wounded.
Finally, the resolution emphasizes that the issue of introducing a state of emergency in the country is in the exclusive competence of the Verkhovna Rada.
After the adoption of the document, the parliamentarians decided that the Rada in the current conditions will work without days off. The next meeting will begin on Friday at 10:00 (12:00 in Moscow).
