Just a laboratory that is engaged in the study of a variety of futuristic ideas announced Tango , an experimental Tango smartphone. Its “superpower” is to realize the three -dimensional reality surrounding him in the same way as people do.

Tango is similar to the most ordinary Android smartphone, however, in addition to the classic set of sensors, it contains the monitoring of the camera and the depth sensor. It is also equipped with a special processor for processing visual data. If you go with Tango in your living room, the phone will create a 3D card of the room and items located in it. The project is headed by engineer Johnny Lee, who had previously worked at Microsoft on Kinect. “Our goal is to come up with a mobile device that will have a human understanding of space and movement,” Lee says.

Now Google offers 200 Tango copies to developers. They have to come up with what you can do with this technology. The authors themselves still see two main directions for Tango: the creation of three -dimensional rooms of rooms and various experiments with augmented reality.
