A draft resolution on the return of Mezhyhirya, the country residence of Viktor Yanukovych, to state ownership has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, UNIAN reports . The authors of the document are deputies from the Svoboda faction: Igor Miroshnichenko, Andriy Tyagnibok, Andriy Mokhnik, Igor Shylo, Oleksiy Kaida, Yuriy Syrotyuk, Oleg Gelevey and Andriy Ilyenko. Miroshnichenko suggested that a children's hospital or shelter could be built on the territory of Mezhyhirya.

The same deputies registered a draft resolution "On the introduction of a moratorium on the alienation of state and municipal property." According to Miroshnichenko, the resolution refers to a ban on alienating property and carrying out other procedures of state and municipal enterprises until the end of the socio-political crisis in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, President Viktor Yanukovych recorded a televised address in which he called what was happening in Kyiv a coup d'etat and the Rada's decisions illegal. He also said that he was not going to resign.

On Saturday, protest activists began giving tours to the Mezhyhirya residence, including for journalists. Bicycle rentals were organized at the main entrance to make it easier to move around the large territory. As UNIAN reports , visitors are offered tea and sandwiches from Maidan Nezalezhnosti. The residence buildings are closed, visitors take pictures of the interiors through the windows. The agency's correspondent found a zoo, a farm, and a greenhouse in the residence. According to him, the zoo has deer, rams, roe deer: both those that are common in Ukraine and exotic ungulates from the Caucasus and Iran. There are also ostriches, peacocks, and bustards.

The closed farm is home to goats, cows, and tomatoes and other vegetables grow in the greenhouse. There are also palm trees.

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Pushkov, who participated in the congress of deputies of the south-eastern regions of Ukraine in Kharkov, wrote on Twitter: "They let anyone into Yanukovych's Mezhyhirya residence near Kiev: he himself fled, the guards fled, the staff ran away... A pathetic end for the president."
