The verdict in the “Case of Eight” was announced

All the defendants were found guilty of both using violence against a government official and participating in mass riots. At the same time, the court excluded arson from the charge of participating in mass riots, since they were not established by the court. Almost all of the defense's arguments were found to be unfounded. The testimony of the defendants, according to the court, is refuted by the testimony of the victims and prosecution witnesses. No violations were found during the investigation. However, the court took into account some mitigating circumstances, in particular, the presence of children.

Andrei Barabanov was sentenced to three years and seven months in prison in a penal colony.

Yaroslav Belousov was sentenced to two and a half years in a penal colony (Judge Natalia Nikishina specifically stipulated that, due to extenuating circumstances, Belousov was sentenced to a term below the lower limit prescribed by law).

Stepan Zimin was sentenced to three and a half years in a penal colony.

Sergei Krivov was sentenced to four years in prison in a penal colony.

Denis Lutskevich was sentenced to three and a half years in prison in a penal colony.

Aleksei Polikhovich was sentenced to three and a half years in prison in a penal colony.

Artem Savelov was sentenced to two years and seven months in a penal colony (due to extenuating circumstances, Savelov was also sentenced to a term below the lowest limit prescribed by law).

Alexandra Naumova (Dukhanina), due to extenuating circumstances (first of all, age), was sentenced to three years and three months of suspended imprisonment, a probationary period of three years.

The term for all is counted from the moment of taking into custody. Until the entry into force of the sentence, the measure of restraint for the sentenced remains unchanged.
