A human rights activist was detained in Chechnya , who responded bitterly on February 23, and this did not like the current government of Chechnya, who wants to withdraw a negative load from the date of February 23.
February 23 is a very terrible day in the life of all Vainakhs. In 1944, it was on this day that all Vainakhs: old people, women, children, disabled people - all, gathered and torn from their home. Then everyone was taken to the railway stations and loaded into the wagons. The export was poorly organized. There was not enough food, there was not enough transport. A long stream of deaths began. The Soviet government exported the Vainakhs according to the already rolled scheme of the evacuation of people. The scheme has been rolled up since 1929, when peasants recognized as fists were taken out from the Black Earth Regions of Russia, and also when mobilization in remote regions of the USSR for the needs of the war. The scheme was simple. People took food and things on the established restriction on a family member. People were taken under a military convoy to the railway station. It was at this moment that shoots were possible. Then people were stuffed into wagons, and the wagons were locked. All this went under a tough supervision of the armed military. People began to die even at the export. Suddenly it turned out that there were not enough cars. The calculations were incorrect. It turned out that it was not so easy to get to some mountainous areas of Chechnya and Ingushetia. It turned out that some people must be exported with special transport - these are disabled people and bedridden old people. It was impossible to leave them, there was nowhere to push them into cars and put on the carts. They were thrown. Conflicts began. We began to use weapons. The first sacrifices. The order was also about the destruction of some remote villages after the export of people, so that people, if they run away, have nowhere to return. Houses and entire villages lit up. If, after leaving, the migrants from the southern regions of Russia, evacuated, were to populate in the plain part of the house, then no one expected the settlement in the deaf areas of Chechnya and Ingushetia.
Mortality increased sharply on the way. People were not taken immediately to Kazakhstan. Military cargo had preferences. Food, taken from home, quickly ended. The organization along the way was bad. Medical assistance to immigrants was organized bad, and natural life required medical care: childbirth, attacks of patients, attacks of disabled people, diseases of the weakest due to stress and poor conditions of transportation and nutrition. Another problem sharply exacerbated the situation. People did not want their loved ones to be buried in the way. The traditions of the Vainakhs demanded burial in their native land, according to certain rites in the presence of adults. And the corpses simply climbed out of the wagon by the military, and no one knew what happened to them further. This led to the fact that the corpses began to be hidden and not to be given to the military. It also exacerbated the medical situation. Also, mortality was intensified from the fact that the military order of the resettlement required the use of weapons while trying to flee. People fled, shot them. All this nightmare lasted almost a month. A month of deaths, conflicts, hunger.
Further, the wagons were stopped in the steppe and long string of mobilized carts to the places of future villages stretched. Here the number of deaths also began to increase. People again tried to run. Again shooting. The poor initial supply and medical service system also did their job. Plus still bad weather. Little was prepared for the resettlement of such a large number of people.
On February 23, people send me congratulations on the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland. This is such a large Soviet tradition, entrenched with us. Men's holiday. The day when female individuals can express signs of attention to male individuals. This holiday has little attitude to the defenders of the Fatherland. We are used to it. And the Weinakhs, as part of the Soviet people, also celebrated this day until 1944. After 1944, the Vainakhs recall on this day those terrible six months followed after February 23, 1944, when each family was orphaned and lost several people, and some families died out completely.
So it happened. The entire Soviet Union celebrates the holiday of the defenders of the Fatherland, and in the houses of Vainakhs they remember the dead. And for 70 years we have been living in two worlds, in one state.
