The judge of the Primorsky Kraisud Dmitry Grishchenko interrupted the hearing in the case of the Primorsky partisans until March 13. It is reported by RIA "Novosti". The reason for the break was the change of lawyer with the defendant Vadim Kovtun: Grishchenko provided the new defender for two weeks to familiarize himself with the case file.
Refusing the former lawyer, Kovtun referred to his financial situation. “In principle, at this stage, I can also protect my interests myself,” he explained. “And since in the future the means for the remuneration of the labor of a lawyer can be recovered from me, I want to abandon his services.”
In this regard, Grishchenko provided Kovtun with a state lawyer.
The current meeting was devoted to discussing the consequences of the indictment verdict issued by the jury on February 4 . Prior to the statement of Kovtun in court, part of the personal characteristics of the accused were read out. March 13, the consideration of the characteristics will continue.
The hearings are already held without the participation of the jury, since their work after the announcement of the verdict is completed.
