It could be easily assumed that the Kremlin would perceive the flight of Viktor Yanukovych from Kyiv and his subsequent detachment from power as his own foreign policy defeat and would begin a real war against the new Ukrainian authorities. But there was a weak hope that in Moscow they would be convinced - the allies of the inverted president in Ukraine were not left anywhere. The associates of Yanukovych from the Party of Regions accused him of betrayal, the representative of the Regional faction Mikhail Chechetov said that his colleagues consider him legitimate acting head of state Alexander Turchinov, even the ex-presidential adviser Anna German, who remained with Yanukovych, returned to the parliament. The Kharkov mayor Gennady Kernes, who had recently played at the Congress of the notorious “Ukrainian Front” with pro -Russian speeches, is now fighting for the European House’s building flag, the oligarch and the main sponsor of Yanukovych Rinat Akhmetov indicates the need to preserve the territorial unity of the country.
And then in Moscow they decided to once again play the Crimean map. It was not possible to do this openly, since the head of the Autonomy Government Anatoly Mogilev also recognized the new power in the country. It was not possible to appoint a new leadership in Crimea, since the prime minister’s candidacy should be agreed with the President of Ukraine. It was impossible to even collect the Supreme Council, many deputies of which did not want to participate in a dubious political adventure.
And then the buildings of the Crimean parliament and the government were captured by "unknown" armed people who obviously subordinate the speaker of parliament Vladimir Konstantinov. A session with an unknown number of deputies and an unclear decision -making procedure was held in the captured premises of the parliament - even mobile phones were allowed to parliamentarians who came to the building. The deputies resigned the government of Mogilev and elected a new prime minister - Sergey Aksenov. When asked whether the issue with the president was agreed, they answered in the affirmative that it turned out to be a lie. If the question with whom they could agree, then only with the newly-minted emigrant Yanukovych, who is going to appear today before the elected public in Rostov-on-Don. So Aksenov, seriously, is not the prime minister. But the Kremlin received what he wanted: a puppet government, completely dependent on Russian assistance, is closed to Yanukovych and preparing for a referendum, which will be the first step towards the Crimean separation from Ukraine. Victory!
I don’t know if someone understands not only in Russia, but also in Crimea, the entire scale of the disaster approaching the peninsula. Russia, of course, can help the separatists of Crimea, but is in no way able to attach its territory to its own - this will cause such an international scandal that even Putin will not be decided on. But what is independent Crimea?
This is the territory, the whole independence of which will be based on anti -Ukrainian propaganda - and this is despite the fact that the main vacationers in the Crimea were Ukrainians. For Russians there is too much Soviet service, and a little expensive, Antalya and that is cheaper. And for Ukrainians this has long been an internal resort. Now they will not come either - some in protest, some out of fear. The first failure of the holiday season will ruin the already poor population of the peninsula, living from summer to summer, will put an end to the perennial efforts of those who open hotels, restaurants, excursion bureaus - everything will go to dust.
But these are just economic consequences. There will be political. In Crimea, there are many citizens who identify themselves with Ukraine, and not with Russia, and even more so not with the pseudo -dependent state of local "brothers". These are Crimean Tatars that are well organized, united and even have their own national parliament. And these are tens of thousands of Ukrainians and Russians, especially young people who were brought up already in the New Crimea and New Ukraine.
Obviously, these people - and this is a total of half a million people from the two millionth population of the peninsula - will not agree with what is happening. And if the protesters encounter new authorities, then at least two states will be on their side: Ukraine, which will protect its territorial integrity, and Türkiye, which will protect the Crimean Tatars. And in this situation, the collapse of the Crimea economy is inevitable - the peninsula for many years will turn from a resort zone into a hot point, and we will be reminded of Yalta not in tourist catalogs, but in the news from these very hot spots.
So, with the Crimea, we have already mentally said goodbye in the zrevan of conflagration, explosions and clashes. And now we’ll forgive with another-Russian-Ukrainian mutual understanding. Because for most Ukrainians, wherever they lived, Russia, draining Crimea, from a close country, even politically mistaken, will turn into a banal occupier. It will be necessary for years and decades after Putin to restore this confidence that is lost before our eyes. No “ideological saboteurs” will be able to inflict a greater blow to the general past, and if Russia decides to season the Crimean dish Yanukovych, who has not yet had time to wash himself from Kyiv blood, then consider the case. You can also say goodbye to Ukraine - now for Russia directly from the Mikhailovsky farm, emptiness populated by extremists begins.
