
The judge of the Basmanny Court of Moscow Natalia Dudar extended until July 3 the term of detention of the mayor of Yaroslavl Evgeny Urlashov, Rapsei reports. The judge satisfied the application of the investigation, leaving Urlashov until the end of the extended term of the investigation of the case, and only for a year.
According to the investigator, the investigation is of particular difficulty. About 30 examinations have already been conducted in the case, it is required to interrogate some more witnesses who are in different cities, for which they still need time. "The reasons for my request are as follows: at present there has been a situation requiring urgent surgery in order to provide me with medical care, namely conducting a complex dental operation," wrote Urlashov.
On December 25, the Moscow City Court confirmed the decision to extend Urlashov with the term of detention in the pre -trial detention center until March 3 . Thus, the appeal of the lawyers arrested for the November decision of the Basmann district court of the capital was rejected.
Meanwhile, in their complaint, lawyers indicated that Urlashov’s health worsened. The defense insisted on changing the conditions of the former mayor and his treatment. Urlashov has temporary dental implants, and within a month they need to be replaced, lawyers noticed with reference to doctors. Otherwise, the arrested may begin to infuse blood. Urlashov was detained by the police on July 2. Two criminal cases of attempting to receive a bribe were instituted against him. The investigation insists that the mayor of Yaroslavl and his subordinates from December 2012 to July 2, 2013 extorted a bribe of 45 million rubles from the entrepreneur from the amount transferred to the company at the expense of the work performed. In addition, according to investigators, in May 2013, Urlashov demanded a bribe from the entrepreneur for refusing the claims in the arbitration process in the city hall’s claim. According to Urlashov himself, a political provocation was committed against him.
