Ukrainian policemen detained Igor Lutsenko and Yuri Verbitsky, involved in the abduction of Euromaidan activists. According to Ukrainian Pravda, this was stated by Deputy Minister of the Interior Nikolai Velichkovich.

It is his law enforcement officers who suspect the organization and coordination of the actions of the so -called" titles " - former and current athletes, as well as previously convicted persons who committed illegal actions in relation to protest shares in the center of Kyiv," said Velichkovich.

On Friday in Kyiv, authorized searches continued, including in the office on Podil.

"Now law enforcement officers know about 13 participants in the abduction of Igor Lutsenko and Yuri Verbitsky, two of them were detained. The rest of the attackers are looking for, because some time ago they switched to an illegal position," the deputy minister said.

Lutsenko and Verbitsky were kidnapped from the Alexander Hospital on the morning of January 21, when Lutsenko brought Verbitsky to the hospital with an eye injury. As Lutsenko said, they were taken somewhere, they were kept in some garage for a long time and beat.

Then Lutsenko with a bag on his head was placed near the tree and left in the forest. On the evening of January 22, the body of Yuri Verbitsky with traces of torture was found in the Borispol forest strip. The Kyiv police then stated that Verbitsky died "as a result of hypothermia." However, according to the information of the deputy Gennady Moskal, Verbitsky died, because after the injuries caused to him could not move.

"The criminal group, who in a zealously beaten a citizen of Verbitsky and threw it in a forest belt in the cold, was well aware that with such injuries a person would not be able to survive," Moskal said.

On the eve of the new Prosecutor General of Ukraine Oleg Makhnitsky said that two officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were involved in the abduction and murder.
