OJSC "Far East"

The settlement of the Far East has become a fashionable topic for Russian politicians. The last trend is the idea to send Ukrainians who fled from the homeland. As Izvestia writes, State Duma deputy Roman Khudyakov proposes to provide immigrants with housing, and after five years of work to “master” the Far East to provide citizenship.

“They will be able to live in the space of Russian civilization, receive salaries with allowances for living in the eastern territories, and we will gradually solve the problems of the low populism of our territories,” the deputy’s newspaper quoted.

These problems, as it seems, are trying to solve everyone who is not too lazy, and more and more fantastic ideas appear: recently, on the round table of the Far Eastern Club of Experts, Honored Professor proposed to populate the region with amnestied entrepreneurs.

And Bladmir Zhirinovsky last spring said that guilty officials should be sent to the Far East. “Ask them in the most rigid way, and you don’t have to be shy about moving - it’s not necessary to resign - to Magadan, to the Far East,” Zhirinovsky said during a government meeting.

Medvedev himself recently instructed the government to make a list of state-owned companies, whose headquarters should move to the region.

But while politicians come up with more and more exotic versions of the settlement of the territory, officials of the Ministry of Development of the Far East, which were directly responsible for this process, apparently decided not to linger on its harsh, cold lands.

Having proposed to the authorities to create two autonomous non-profit organizations in the region and two open joint-stock companies, one of them with the eloquent name of the Far East OJSC-the ministry now collects suitcases and leaves the original headquarters located in Khabarovsk. About 25 employees of the department will remain in the city. About a hundred officials are moving to a new office in a relatively warm and “advanced” after the APEC Summit, and another hundred will settle in Moscow. In the fall, the ministry even ordered luxury cars for movement in the capital - you won’t go far in the Far East in such, the roads are too bad.
