
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a government order on the education of Russian roads ("Avtodor") of a subsidiary in the state corporation, which will be the customer of the construction of the bridge over the Kerch Strait. According to RIA Novosti, Medvedev said about this at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.
“It is clear that in a reliable and inexpensive transportation between the Taman Peninsula and Crimea, they are interested in both Russia and Ukraine,” said the head of government. “As in the development of additional channels for trading, joint investment projects.”
Russia signed an agreement on the construction of a transport route through the Kerch Strait in December 2013 with officials of the then President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych among other documents on bilateral cooperation.
After that, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov instructed the construction of the Avtodor State Corporation or any of its subsidiaries. The Avtodor Supervisory Board decided to assign the customer’s functions to a specially created enterprise, forming it in the first quarter of 2014.
The cost of the project in 2010 prices was determined at the level of 24 billion rubles.
