The Verkhovna Rada on March 2 approved the decision of the Security and National Defense of Ukraine to bring the army into full combat readiness, the deputies also instructed the government to immediately improve the material, technical and financial support of the armed forces.

According to Vladimir Pritula, residents of Crimea react differently to the presence of the Russian military:

- Some people are welcoming the input of Russian troops, they are violently rejoiced. And some people are very depressed. They do not want to talk, leave the conversations. Some people are actively protested. Yesterday a rally was held against the Russian occupation near the Shevchenko monument. Not very many, somewhere about 50 people. Representatives of different nationalities came, on the call of the All -Ukrainian Rada, a new organization that was created yesterday to protect the Ukrainian ethnic minority.
