Professors MGIMO was fired for an article about the Crimean crisis

Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Andrei Zubov, was dismissed from the institute. About this to the "faces" was told by Zubov himself. On March 1, Vedomosti published an article by Zubov with a sharp criticism of the actions of the Russian leadership in Crimea.

The Professor said to the “faces” that he was informed about dismissal on Tuesday when he was going to a meeting of the department. He was called the head of the Department of Philosophy and made it clear that his article was the reason. According to Zubov, the rector of the university, Anatoly Torkunov, did not make a decision independently, but complied with the order of a higher management. Zubov was proposed to write a statement of dismissal of his own free will, but the professor refused. Now he must be dismissed by order.

According to Zubov, by agreement with the leadership of the university, he signed his “bright and going against the authorities” with the position of the authorities without mentioning MGIMO.

On Sunday, teeth participated in an anti -war manifestation in the center of Moscow , one of his graduate students was detained. Zubov that day commented on the situation on the air of the Rain TV channel.

His article in Vedomosti began with the words: “Friends. We are on the verge. We are on the verge of not including a new subject in the Russian Federation. We are on the verge of complete destruction of the system of international treaties, economic chaos and political dictatorship. We are on the verge of war with our closest people of Ukraine, a sharp deterioration in relations with Europe and America, on the verge of cold, and possibly a hot war with them.” Zubov spent parallels between Russia's claims to the Crimea and the accession of Austria to the Third Reich in 1938.

Immediately after it became known about the dismissal of Zubov, he was called from Ukraine with a proposal for work. According to the scientist, he was touched, but this option is not seriously considering.

Later, on the official Facebook page of the Taras Shevchenko Kiev University, a message appeared: “On behalf of the university rector, we invite Professor MGIMO Andrei Zubov to work as a professor at the Institute of International Relations - a partner of MGIMO. We will be happy to see in our ranks an outstanding historian and honest scientist and man!”

Zubov - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Religious Science, Philosophy and Roading Disciplines of the Philosophy -Bogoslovskoye Faculty of the Russian Orthodox Institute of St. John the Theologian, professor of the Department of Philosophy of MGIMO, General Director of the Center "Church and International Relations". He is one of the authors of the foundations of the social concept of the Russian Orthodox Church.
