At the Ministry of Defense, pigeons were released into the sky

On the evening of Tuesday, March 4, in the center of Moscow, an anti -war action was held near the building of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - ten people released twenty white pigeons into the sky.

“I understand that we can’t do anything - we are too weak, insignificant, and no one is considered with us. - The initiator of the action, journalist and photographer Victoria Ivleva told Colta.ru. “But I think that it is very important for people living in Ukraine that there are someone else in Russia, some other people who love them, who actually consider them brothers relatives.”

“The symbolism of this action is amazing simple, because it completely goes back to the biblical myth, which tells about the reconciliation of the Creator with all living creatures that survived at that time. In the sky appeared a dove with a branch of olive over the Ark of Noah, in which the entire future population was located. We tried to somehow combine the various meanings that exist now, which are associated with the Bible, and with this myth, and with the history of the use of the pigeon as a bird of the world, as a bird, as a symbol of hopes, ”explained another participant in the action, artist Viktor Ribas.

“And this stupid, unreasonable threat of war with Ukraine somehow paralyzed, and we only had to turn such a symbolic gesture to those on whom something depended on, and this was such a sacred meaning, because if we release the bird into the sky, we are losing something. But since the birds flew away, then we brought such a sacred sacrifice, ”says the artist.

Over the past last days, in Moscow, the police detained more than 400 participants in unauthorized anti -war shares.
