Czech Deputy Prime Minister Pavel Bělobrádek hit a moped driver. Česká televize reported this on March 11.

The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, March 10, in Prague. According to the police, Belbradek, while driving a car, did not allow a moped moving along the main road to pass at the intersection. The driver of the two-wheeler suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.

The police confirmed that both participants in the accident were sober and did not exceed the speed limit, České noviny reports. Law enforcement agencies opened a case on the fact of causing bodily harm through negligence. If the motorist is found guilty, he faces up to one year in prison or removal from public service.

Belobradek himself stated that he hit the moped driver because he did not notice him. Immediately after the accident, he called an ambulance. Commenting on the incident, the politician expressed his readiness to meet with the person he shot down and apologize to him.

Belobradek has served as deputy prime minister since January 2014, when came a new coalition government to power in the Czech Republic. The Deputy Prime Minister also heads the Christian Democratic Union - the Czechoslovak People's Party, which is part of the ruling coalition. The new government was headed by the leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party, Boguslav Sobotka. In addition to these two parties, the coalition includes the social movement ANO.
