"I told Putin that the most important issue is the territorial integrity of our country, because its violation is a violation of the agreement that was signed by the warrants - the USA, Great Britain and Russia in 1994 in exchange for our rejection of nuclear weapons. Dzhemeliev emphasized in a conversation with Putin that the referendum on March 16 would definitely not be recognized by Ukraine and the world community. According to Dzhemeliev, the Russian president did not discuss the issue of the annexation of Crimea. "He did not say this. He said that the decisions on the issues that I have touched on - compliance with the territorial integrity of Ukraine - will be made depending on what the results of the referendum will be," said the ex -head of the Mejlis.
Dzhemeliev arrived in Moscow on Tuesday evening on a working visit for a meeting with Shaimiev. On Wednesday, they discussed the situation in the Crimea.
In the morning, on Wednesday, Dzhemilev met with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Moscow Vladimir Yelchenko, according to the Majlis website. The meeting was also attended by Russian human rights activist Alexander Podrabinek. During the conversation, an exchange of views took place along the possible ways to get out of the crisis in the Crimea and the preservation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The ambassador emphasized the role of the Crimean Tatar people in resolving the situation and maintaining calm and peace on the Crimean Peninsula.
Jamielev announced an invitation to Moscow on Tuesday. According to him, he received an invitation personally from Putin. Dzhemilev did not immediately make decisions on a trip to Moscow. "They will not discuss the withdrawal of the Russian troops with me, but they will offer something," he said then.
Earlier on Wednesday, the head of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, said that Crimean Tatars will boycott a referendum on the status of the region. “Today everyone suddenly fell in love with the Crimean Tatars.
