Ukrainian hackers attacked NATO sites

Several NATO sites were subjected to a powerful hacker attack on Saturday, which, however, did not cause them serious damage. This was announced by the official representative of NATO ACA LUNGESKU.

"Several NATO websites have become objects of a serious DDOS attack. There is no operational impact. Our experts are working to restore normal work of normal work (sites)," the NATO representative wrote on her Twitter .

She later clarified that among the attacked sites was the website of the NATO center for advanced experience in joint protection against cyberosis ( CCDCOE.org ). The attack did not damage the alliance systems. At the moment, the work of sites has been restored, added Lungescu.

However, at the time of writing this material, the site was still inaccessible. On a given request, the system issued a message that "the site is temporarily unavailable or overloaded with requests."

The main site of NATO ( NATO.int ) is also junk. The system writes that "an error has occurred, repeat the attempt later."

Lungescu did not specify whether the source of cyber attacks managed to establish. Meanwhile, the responsibility for what happened has already taken upon itself the Ukrainian group "Cyberbercote".

The Hacquer website notes that in addition to CCDCOE.org and NATO.int, the DDOS-Atak site has been subjected to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly ( NATO-PA.int ). Note that he is currently working.

According to the hackers, in this way they protested against the presence of the "NATO invaders" in Ukraine. Recall that on Friday, the DDOS attacks were subjected to Internet resources of Russian state structures, including sites of the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Central Bank.

The incident occurred two days before the Crimean referendum . However, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov called not to associate the DDOS attacks with the events in Ukraine and the machinations of Ukrainian hackers. He emphasized that looking for a source of attack is useless.

In addition, earlier attacks of the hackers were subjected to sites of large Russian media, which often accuse of "pro -Kremlin" ideology. In particular, the mentioned Cybersnoye took responsibility for the collapse of the website of the Russian Newspaper. On the hacked site, images were posted that criticize the policy of the Russian authorities in relation to Crimea.
