It seems that the Kremlin does not know that the support of Ukrainian right-wing guards is the southeast

Supporters of the United Ukraine. Donetsk, March 13, 2014, affected during clashes.
In the Russian expert community, they continue to extend the topic of not only the Crimean referendum, but also the accessions of the regions of the Ukrainian southeast to the Russian Federation. At the same time, of course, it is about their voluntary joining in Russia. But is it worth spending time cultivating the myth?
Stereotypes contrary to
The situation in the Ukrainian southeast does not allow the Kremlin to even dream of some voluntary entry of these territories into Russia. Clear signals about their unwillingness to conduct any referendums - whether it is about autonomization, about federalization, or about leaving Ukraine - have already submitted Odessa, Kharkov and Donetsk regional councils. The last on this issue was the pro -Russian head of the Lugansk regional council Valery Golenko: he stated that the local regional council firmly stands beyond the territorial unity of Ukraine. And in Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson and Nikolaev, the issues of referenda by local authorities did not even rise even.
If Russia decides to invade Ukraine across the eastern border, Russians will not be met by people with flowers, but fierce resistance. And the point is not only in the newly formed National Guard, which, along with the re -certification of the fighters of the former internal troops, will be integrated by fighters of the Maidan self -defense and military detachments of right -winging organizations. There is one more important circumstance: the territorial support of right-wing radicals is contrary to the common stereotype by no means Galichin, but the Ukrainian southeast.
The backbone of the “Right Sector” is made up of organizations such as “Patriot of Ukraine” (leader Andrei Biletsky) and “Trizub named after Stepan Bandera”. The first originally arose in Kharkov and has the most large asset there, drawing youth from among radical football fans. As for Trizuba, its leader Dmitry Yarosh is from Dneprodzerzhinsk, the Dnipropetrovsk region, it is here that the organization feels most confident in all. There are also strong right -wing organizations in Zaporozhye and Donetsk. In recent years, a new movement has been actively developing in the East - “Russian -speaking Ukrainian nationalists” (runes), headed by Sergei Zamilyukhin, actively recruiting supporters through social networks. Ukrainian nationalism has long become largely Russian. Why?
Popular trend
The modern construction of the Ukrainian nation led to the fact that far -right views have become a popular trend that captivates active youth. East Ukrainian nationalism differs only in that there is a generational factor here: if in Galicina the electoral base of the party of Oleg Tyagnibok “Freedom” is pensioners, then in the east the elderly all these years voted for the Party of Regions. But their children and grandchildren often become nationalists.
So there is no need to wait for the option of quick seizure of the territory with mass support of the population.
