Visa and MasterCard services have stopped making payments of the holders of plastic cards of the Bank "Russia" and the SMP bank, reports Lenta.ru with reference to the bank data.

Banks claim that their employees did not introduce any restrictions on operations, and international payment systems ceased to provide payments for payments without any notifications.

Earlier on March 21, a message appeared on the Rossiy Bank website in which the bank stated that it continues to work in a stable mode, despite the entry into force of American sanctions.

"The bank fulfills and will certainly fulfill all its obligations to customers and partners in full," the press release noted.

The Bank "Russia" was on the US sanctions list, which was expanded on March 20. Finorganization turned out to be the only Russian legal entity in respect of which sanctions were imposed on this day. The list also included the largest shareholder of the Bank "Russia" - Yuri Kovalchuk. When it became known about restrictive measures, the finorganization said that the businessman perceives them as "recognition of his merits to the Russian Federation."

The SMP Bank belongs to the Rotenberg brothers, who was repeatedly mentioned in the media as close friends of Vladimir Putin.
