On March 20, the Government of the Russian Federation proposed “to ensure national security” to prohibit medical institutions to purchase equipment abroad

For the sake of “ensuring national security”, Russian hospitals can be left without imported medical equipment. In the photo there is a Vvedenskaya clinical hospital. St. Petersburg, November 2013. There is a certain draft Decree of the Government that I read. It was developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and published on the official portal Regulations.gov.ru. And it really talks about the ban on almost from April 1, 2014 of imported medical products for municipal and state needs - such goods are planned to be purchased only in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
But in my opinion, this is either a mistake, or a description, or some kind of technical marriage. Not a single person who is in their right mind and solid memory can write this. The motivation of such a solution, this trend is absolutely clear to me. We need to create our medical industry in Russia. But you need to start with the screwdriver assembly, as everyone started: Korea, China, as we started our car industry. But this is possible for many years or decades. And then we will not fill the market, because we simply do not have it.
If suddenly from tomorrow it will be forbidden to buy imported medical devices in city hospitals, hospitals will simply get up because we purchased 90% or even more imported medical equipment. To provide it, we need spare parts, consumables. Having carried out such a large -scale modernization of healthcare, suddenly deprived of these expensive devices of consumables - this cannot occur to a sensible person. I know our government, there is no such person who could propose this at all, especially for such a short period.
Therefore, it seems to me that this is a typo. All the noise that rose around this is from scratch. Although the fact that it is necessary to stimulate the development of their own industry is absolutely obvious. It is necessary to eliminate manufacturers of medical equipment to our territory and start at least with screwdriver assembly. Such a task can be set, but it is fulfilled only in the long term.
