This was announced today, March 25, in Stockholm, chairman of the international jury Larry Lempert, RIA Novosti reports.
Barbro Lindgren was born in 1937, her first book for children, “Summer Mattias”, was published in 1965. Since then, the writer has published about 100 works, among which illustrated books for children, children's poetry, children's plays, stories for children and adults. Barbro Lindgren Barbro are translated into 30 languages.
The awarding ceremony of the Astrid Lindgren Prize laureate will be held in Stockholm on June 2.
Founded by the Sweden government in 2002, Astrid Lindgren Prize, the world's largest reward in the field of children's literature: its prize fund is 5 million Swedish crowns (about $ 780 thousand).
