The Alania football club (Vladikavkaz) was expelled from the Russian Football Union on March 25. Such a decision was made at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the RFU in Moscow. Tula Arsenal claims to the place of "Alania" in the RFU.
In February 2014, Alania withdrew from the championship of the Football National League and ceased its activities as a legal entity. The CEO of the club Alexander Stelmakh said that the reason for the bankruptcy of Alania is related to the refusal of the club’s sponsor from the obligations undertaken. In the FNL championship Vladikavkazets in all remaining matches will be counted technical defeats with a score of 0: 3.
FC "Alania" was founded in 1921. In 1995, the club became the champion of Russia. In 1992 and 1996, the team ranked second in the Russian Championship. The club was led to the gold medals by the head coach Valery Gazzaev, who has recently been the president of Alania.
According to the Charter of the RFU, membership in it is voluntary. Members of the RFU are accredited sports federations in football in the territories of more than half of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
