Theater named after Natalia Satz will present an opera for future mothers

Georg Friedrich Handel wrote to Alcin in 1735 for the newly built London Covent Garden Theater on the Libretto of the Opera Altsina (1728) of the Italian composer Riccardo Browk. The main storyline was taken from the heroic poem of the 16th century “Frantic Roland” Ludovico Ariosto. Compared to the original, the plot was somewhat changed for better perception.

In the middle of the ocean, the island of the sorceress Altsina is hidden. She turns any traveler who has come here into stones, trees, animals and flowers. And only Rudgero's knight manages to avoid this fate. The great sorceress falls in love with him. The abandoned bride of Rujero Braudamant rushes to search for him.

These and many other classical musical performances are already going on with us, and we continue to adhere to the main areas of repertoire policy formed by Natalia Sats: we put new production specifically for our theater and turn to the classical repertoire so that academic performances are fascinating and understandable the widest audience. But we also strive to introduce our viewers to ancient art. In our repertoire there is already the opera “Game of Soul and Body” Emilio Cavalieri, which is considered the first opera in the history of musical art. And now we turn to the opera, which for almost 300 years is the "alcin" of George Friedrich Handel.
