The Internet Party of Ukraine will nominate Darth Vader as a candidate for the post of head of the Ukrainian state, the party’s website reported Friday.

“According to the results of the past internal party primaries, Comrade Vader won a landslide victory, therefore, it is he who will become the candidate for the post of President of Ukraine from our party,” promised party leader Dmitry Golubov.

The “invincible star commander” himself confirmed his desire to take responsibility for the fate of Ukraine. “Only I can make an empire out of the republic, return its former power, lost territories, and pride in the country,” his words are quoted on the Boarding Party website.

Vader's candidacy will be officially nominated on March 28 at the party congress.

One of the movie heroes of the film epic “Star Wars” by American director George Lucas, Vader became the image in which the deputy head of the “Internet Party of Ukraine” appears in public - this is a cloak, “armor” and a helmet covering his face. The “Dark Lord” gained particular popularity in Ukraine after a series of events he organized. Among other things, he fought against illegal parking, “legal” places for selling drugs, he declared himself the mayor of Odessa, attacked the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine with a detachment of supporters, distributed salt and matches in Kiev on the eve of the “end of the world.”

In the 2012 elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 3% of the ballots for Vader were spoiled, according to the website of the Ukrainian Internet Party.

On February 22, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, after a bloody confrontation on the Maidan that led to the death of 103 people, removed the country's President Viktor Yanukovych from power and scheduled early elections for May 25.
