On Wednesday, the Federal Council of Switzerland condemned the annexation of Crimea by Russia, the press release said. The Council took note of the sanctions imposed by the EU and the USA, and decided to "take all the necessary measures to prevent the use of Switzerland to avoid any of these sanctions."
The Council decided to stop issuing permits for exporting military products to Russia and temporarily refuse to implement training programs for the training of Russian military personnel. The State Department and the US Department of Trade introduced restrictions on the sale of military and dual -use products to Russia .
On Thursday, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution confirming the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemning the Russian invasion of Crimea. 100 members of the General Assembly voted for the adoption of the resolution. In addition to Russia, 10 countries opposed, Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, DPRK, Nicaragua, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and Zimbabwe. Another 58 delegations, including China, abstained.
