She and the UN

You can imagine how much effort was spent by Russian diplomacy in order to disrupt the UN General Assembly resolution for the Kremlin . I will not say that all efforts were in vain - the number of refraining and simply not appearing at the session of delegations is enough to talk on television about the absence of support for "anti -Russian actions". Nevertheless, the country is strong not for truants, but supporters. And Russia has only ten of them.

At the same time, most of the friends, even supporters of Moscow, are hard to call - these are simply sworn enemies of the United States. Sudanese, Syrian and Zimbabvian dictators have nothing to lose, Cuba is fighting the sixth decade with the United States, and other Latin American countries that supported Moscow also have been building regimes on the foundation of the fight against a “big brother”. Well, Belarus with Armenia. Russia itself is already crushing them - and it was enough to listen to the performance of the Belarusian representative at the UN to appreciate the scale of the attack. In general, Yerevan is now nowhere to go: after Moscow transferred the decision of territorial disputes to the power level, Armenia was on the verge of the real war with Azerbaijan, and there is no one to support it in this war - except Russia, of course.

That, in fact, is all: the enemies of the States and friends are involuntarily. It is much more interesting to look at those who did not support. China and India, whose leadership, Vladimir Putin, thanked for support, abstained. Even Kazakhstan abstained, although Nursultan Nazarbayev was among the few who expressed careful support for Putin’s actions.

The vote of the CIS countries generally question the true influence of Russia on neighbors. They supported the resolution on Ukrainian territorial integrity of three countries - in addition to Ukraine itself, it is Azerbaijan and Moldova. Uzbekistan, like Kazakhstan, was refrained. The rest simply did not come. As, however, the Iranians did not come, which Moscow took care and saved for so long, applying one veto after another on the decisions of the UN Security Council. All Brix participants except Russia abstained during the vote: a group of countries, which is so often depicted by Moscow as a geopolitical and economic alternative to the Great Eight, does not want to become this alternative.

And also about Russian friends - this time the Balkan. Serbia, the territorial integrity of which Russia consistently defended - and still continues to refer to the Kosovo precedent, preferred the delegation to the meeting not to send. Montenegro supported the resolution. Macedonia - too. No Russian injections into the economy, no hotels, factories and gas pipelines helped. I don’t even remember the vote of the former Yugoslav republics - members of the European Union - the EU, of course, voted in jointly.

Therefore, the resolution was supported by both Greece and Cyprus. But Türkiye, actually controlling the northern part of Cyprus, also supported. And it is clear why - neither Greece nor Türkiye began to attach Cyprus to themselves, although they really wanted and were ready to fight for this. But even such - unsuccessful, but divided Cyprus - has become an eternal abyss between the Greeks and the Turks. And this example, too, did not teach anything to the Russian leadership, confident that everything would be forgotten about Crimea and you need to prepare for the continuation of the banquet.

The only problem is that there will soon be no one to invite this banquet. A country acquiring friends with tanks can, of course, revel in its power - but at the same time it must be aware that not to get out of the tank and that the world is narrowed to the space visible from the tank sight.
