Sobyanin promises to build Disneyland in Moscow

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that after 5–7 years a large entertainment park similar to Paris Disneyland will appear in Moscow.

“Such a park will certainly be in Moscow. - said Sobyanin, answering questions from readers of Komsomolskaya Pravda . - This is not one year. But in 5-7 years it is quite possible to implement such a project. ”

As one of the possible places of the future park, the mayor called the Nagatinsky floodplain in the bend of the Moscow River, earlier this place was called the Park named after the 60th anniversary of the October Revolution. Now in the park with an area of ​​about 1 million square meters there are neither attractions nor other city entertainments.

The idea of ​​building a large amusement park in Moscow has been discussed for several years. In 2005, the city authorities proposed organizing it in the lower imaginates, in the north-west, in 2008-in the park named after Svyatoslav Fedorov at the Cinema "Yerevan" in the north of Moscow.

In February 2011, during a trip to South Korea, Sergei Sobyanin examined the entertainment park in Seoul. In October of the same year, the deputy mayor for social policy Lyudmila Shvetsova said that the Tushino airfield is considered as a place for the construction of Moscow Disneyland, and also said that due to climatic conditions, the park would most likely be covered-as in Seoul.

Seoul Lotte World consists of two parts - the artificial island of Magic Island and the Adventure complex, which is the world's largest covered thematic park. The total area of ​​Lotte World is about 130 thousand square meters, more than 8 million people visit it annually.
