The Ministry of Justice will be given the right to independently compose lists of "foreign agents"

The Federation Council is preparing the next tight corrections to the Law on NPOs. According to the "Independent Gazeta", it is proposed to give the Ministry of Justice the right to independently decide whether the non -profit organization "foreign agent" is. In addition, the department will be able to fine organizations for untimely reporting.

Members of the upper house are convinced that the money received by NPOs from abroad can be used for subversive purposes. The head of the Committee on the Constitutional Legislation of the upper house Andrei Klishas told the publication that most non -profit organizations in Ukraine supported the opposition during the political crisis that led to the change of power. In order not to repeat the events, it is necessary to create a “barrier from foreign financing of performances and demonstrations,” Klishas is sure.

According to him, today the Law on NPOs does not work in full force - non -profit organizations refuse to voluntarily join the register. You can make them do this only through the court.

At a recent meeting with members of the Council of the Chamber of Council, Vladimir Putin did not rule out changes to the work of the NPO. "Here you need to weigh everything properly, think and calmly make decisions related to the improvement of the regulatory framework," he said. According to the president, one cannot allow those who are trying to protect the interests of other states in Russia. Putin urged "not to leave loopholes to those who do not protect the interests of Russian citizens, but to protect the interests of foreign states within Russia itself."

Meanwhile, human rights activists are waiting for an answer to their appeal to the Constitutional Court with a complaint about the inconsistency of the concept of "foreign agent" the basic law of the country.
