It would seem that the Continental League, having satisfied all the requirements, wishes and almost thoughts of the FHR last summer, was in a win -win position. In the case of Sochi success, all the glory would be divided between the League and the federations. In case of failure, the KHL would spread her hands, they say, she did everything she asked, and now excuse me.
But everything turned out in a completely different way. Moreover, having suffered a deafening defeat in Sochi, the winner, nevertheless, was the FHR and personally heads by Vladislav Tretyak. Now he, more precisely, is the Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko, but according to his, Tretyakovsky, patterns will cut the regulations and calendar of the KHL. And indirectly, but still manage and command the league, establish the rules of the game for it.
The continental league made a lot of what led her to the current situation. Critics spoke and wrote about all this more than once. Moreover, the leadership of the League agreed with this criticism. I agreed, but the situation did not change, and sometimes aggravated. And in direct stroke led to the current defeat in the fight against the FHR. Let's try to consider the main causes of this defeat.
1. Solid rejection of economic priorities
Even at the stage of its creation, the KHL positioned itself as a professional league, the main result of which should be economic independence. Now, after six years of its existence, it can be stated that if this program is not forgotten, then only at the very top, in the leadership of the league. Separately taken by the KHL, which is located on the Ovchinnikovskaya embankment, is quite self -bumpy.
Now the Tretyak, more precisely, the Minister of Sports Vitaly Mutko, but according to him, Tretyakovsky, patterns will cut the regulations and calendar of the KHL. And indirectly, but still manage and command the league, establish the rules of the game for it.But none of this can be said about clubs. With the exception of SKA, who earns quite serious money. But the expenses of the Petersburgers are such that no income is enough. Other clubs have an even more depressing picture. Especially in the province. With each next season, they become an increasing and heavy yoke on the neck of the regional authorities. Every year they require more and more investments without much return. While there was a lot of oil and gas money in the country, this, as they say, did not bother anyone. Now the situation has changed, but no one removed the social burden from the heads of the regions, and there is no longer enough money. The first to go to the knife will be precisely professional sports clubs that consume a lot of money. In fact, they are already starting to go, only until this movement is a pronounced nature and is guessed by indirect signs. But still ahead. Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod - does not seem suspicious to you? Not to mention Sokolniki.
Moreover, over six years, the League has not been worried about the cultivation and upbringing of club managers who can earn money. But a whole class of managers who can master any millions and billions has grown. Over the six years of its existence, the KHL showed predators who could lead each other from under the nose of the players, interrupt contracts with even large contracts. And in such an environment, specialists simply could not appear who could build work for a long perspective, who could not only spend, but also earn.
In other words, the Continental League failed to create conditions for its economic independence and security.
2. Lack of open and equal rules of the game for all participants
Every year of the existence of the Continental League, the gap between the richest and most poor KHL clubs increased. And the internal laws adopted in the KHL led to the even greater advantage of rich clubs.
The league adopted many internal laws that are good in their own, but did not work in our realities or worked completely differently as it was supposed. For example, about the financial "ceiling", which individual clubs bent as they could. About the ban on the lease, about young players, which was knocked out by a whole generation of young goalkeepers who polished the shop with almost no chance of reaching the ice. The ban on negotiations on contracts before May 1 drove all these negotiations into the dark sector, increasing the nervous tension around them, and so on, the list can be continued.
Finally, opening the curtain over club budgets, the League did not take the main step: she did not publish hockey players in the public domain. Although this could open many painful places and close many issues. From the ratio of "price-quality" for each player made for public judgment before the qualification of club managers. And sometimes even their corruption.
3. The lack of a single team has a lack
The Continental League was unable to oppose the FHR as a unified team, because in six years she did not have this team. Hockey players have his own trade union, a little later he attracted him and coaches. The agents have their own association. But the club leaders were provided on their own.
From here many problems grew up at once. Club leaders in the field as have been from the time of the Super League temporary workers, depending on the whim of the owner, they remained them. Hence the concern with momentary results. Hence the weak attention to youth and youth hockey, the results of which do not affect the preservation of the official position. Hence the lack of order in youth teams and sports schools, leading to the departure of the ocean and in Europe of many young and promising hockey players.
Together, this led to the fact that in the confrontation between the KHL and the FCR, some of the club leaders performed on the side of Tretyak. Plus those organizations that feed from the Continental League: Trade Union and Agents. And they are difficult to blame for something. The trade union is vitally interested in the employment of Russian hockey players, and in the growth of their salaries. Since deductions to the trade union going to pension and development of trade union programs make up the percentage of salaries. And agents working at the percentage of contracts will be opposed to the last and in any way to resist their reduction.
4. Ragging once ... once ...
A year ago, it seemed that, having accepted the terms of the FCR, the Continental League won. She lost tactically, but won strategically. However, having accepted the terms of the FCR and distorting its own calendar, the KHL did not make concessions on the current conditions (or made a reservation, but we do not know them, and they are not noticeable, judging by how the federation behaves). No official agreement was concluded on this subject. In fact, it so happened that the KHL just bent under the FHR.
But if the federation happened once, why not try to the second? And then, if necessary, both in the third and fourth. Having begun once, having won a pure victory, I would like to do so in the future - even from the point of view of human psychology.
True, now this is the danger to the FHR itself. Because, bending one, another, there is not even a virtual danger, but the inevitable obligation of "turning". Which will certainly arrive - the matter is only in time. What and how will happen, whether the position of the Tretyak himself will shake somewhere, or the team will bring him a “gift”-this is not the main thing. But when this happens, then the spring bent by your hands, as a rule, flies in your forehead. And now in the federation you should not forget about it.

The website of the Eurosport channel writes that German journalists continue to dig under the ex-President of Bavaria, Ulessa. It turned out that his fraud could be much larger than it was still known.
The investigation was conducted by the Welt Am Sonntag newspaper, which is referred to by the German colleagues of Eurosport. According to the publication, the Swiss Bank Vontobel could perform operations with Hyoneses accounts, in which it went to billions. As a maximum - two billion euros.
It was previously established that the street hid taxes worth 18 million euros. This is despite the fact that there were 165 million on his accounts. However, if billionth operations were carried out with Höness’s accounts, then this somewhat changes the degree of fault. Newspapers talk about 28.5 million euros. In 2005, the so -called margin score of the former Bavarian boss were the same 165 million, and the potential speculative leverage, in this case, was 12 times higher than this amount.
FIDE President said that Cameroon claims to hold Olympiads in 2018 and 2020 (by the way, the chess Olympiads have never passed in Africa!) And South KoreaNow investigators and experts calculate how much Hönes owes the state. And only after the payment of the required amount can he count on condescension - half of his initial punishment. And this is not 42 months of prison, but only 21. It remains to wait for the new discovered circumstances to affect Höones.

The site "Gazeta.ru" reports that in Khanty-Mansiysk the applicants' tournament ended, the winner of which Vishvanatan Anand will play in November this year the match for the world championship with Magnus Karlsen.
FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who flew to Khanty-Mansiysk to participate in the presidential council of the International Chess Federation and at the closing ceremony of the applicants' tournament, told reporters that two applications for the new match Karlsen-Anand had already received. True, so far they are made in steady form, and in order to have time to correctly design and submit them in writing, applicants have another month - until the end of April. Ilyumzhinov, a transparently hinted that the match may well take place in Khanty-Mansiysk.
Fide President also said that Cameroon claims to hold Olympiads in 2018 and 2020 (by the way, the chess Olympiads have never passed in Africa!) And South Korea.
But with the next series of the Grand Prix, there is no clarity yet: the search for organizing cities continues, the final decision on the terms and places of the series tournaments has been postponed for three months.
Vichy Anand, who first visited Khanty-Mansiysk, admitted that he remained completely satisfied with the organization of the tournament, and thanked the owners for hospitality. He only regretted that he had a little walking around the city: it was too cold for a resident of India, then too much puddles under his feet. Nevertheless, he examined the city center, he liked modern buildings and numerous parks. Anandu was offered to ride deer on Monday, and he was happy to accept the invitation.
