Lufthansa will cancel 102 flights to Russia

The German airline Lufthansa, due to the strike of pilots from 2 to 4 April, canceled 102 flights to Russia, according to the carrier’s website .

The 64 flights to Moscow and back, 34 flights to St. Petersburg and from it, as well as 4 flights of Nizhny Novgorod-Frankfurt and vice versa were canceled. Passengers can transfer a departure to another date, or return tickets without penalties.

The largest strike of pilots in Germany is organized by the Vereinigung Cockpit trade union. Pilots require an increase in wages by 10% and surcharges for the period after voluntary avoiding piloting (55 years) until the retirement age is reached (60 years).

According to Frankfurter Allemeine , every day the carrier will cost a minimum of 25 million euros. The publication notes that the pilots are the highest paid group of company employees. Depending on the experience of work, they earn from 78 thousand to 260 thousand euros per year.

In just three days, 3800 flights will be canceled in just three days.
