Russia is ready to leave PACE , at least suspend membership. The news against the background of all others is not the most interesting, but characteristic. Recall at least exactly just 14 years ago, in the spring of 2000, Russian deputies were deprived of the right to vote in this PACE and two-thirds of the adversaries insisted to start the process of exclusion of Russia from their ranks. Russia is ready to leave PACE, and this determination, overwhelming the pride of the heart, evokes the most sweet memories. Of those unforgettable Soviet times, when we wanted not only to Europe, but also to the League of Nations, with which we said goodbye without regrets in 1939 because of some small war there. And now, rising from the knees and returning to the USSR, we comprehend the historical correctness of our leaders of the then, and in some ways we learn from their mistakes. That is, they are ready to play ahead of the lead, to leave, without waiting for the time being excluded or deprived of the right to vote.

And what prospects are opened to the country! You can forget about the Strasbourg court with its endless sentences that devastate the treasury. The death penalty can be restored, and the communist Kharitonov is already looking forward to the executions, which he stopped at the years of the shameful moratorium. You can finally return to the true values, to yourself, without reporting to anyone else for what is happening inside the country and next door. Everything is possible. Freedom!

As for Europe, it should apparently expect a counter movement from it. It used to be the West, with a sigh, observing the throwing of Russian partners, suffered and hoped, seeing an unprecedented democratic Russia in the distant future. For her sake, European politicians also suffered, trying to hear sonorous liberal notes in the speeches of our parliamentarians, and if at first, when the Russian parliament was still a place for discussions, these melodies made their way through warlike Clichs, now such music has gone that it was no longer a pity to part. After Crimea and new legislative insights in both of our wards, there was practically nothing to hope for. There was still something to postcate with the deputies of the Russian parliament and just talk. There is nothing to talk about with the people's servants from the Brezhnevsky, and even the Stalinist Supreme Council.

However, in the coming days, when the next session of PACE will take place in Strasbourg, Russia will not be excluded. If only because this is a rather long procedure, and the heads of diplomatic departments, not deputies, make decisions. Ultimately, not even ministers, but the leaders of the states constituting the Council of Europe, endure the final verdict. Most likely, Russia will lose the right to vote in PACE already in April, like 14 years ago, and then both sides will keep a rather long pause. Accustomed to the idea that from now on will have to live apart.

At first it will be quite difficult, as with any break and divorce. So still, so many strengths have been spent, so many nerves, so much money ... However, to live together, even dumping into different rooms and hanging the windows with curtains that close with iron clang. Further, if something does not happen very badly, a boring and long divorce process will begin, so painful that the strongest desire to quickly decide all the formalities will gradually supplant all other feelings.

It will be long wiring. In the West, accompanied by fears of a real cold, or even hot war and fierce disputes about whether it is possible to somehow reconcile with present-day Russia and the inevitability of its special path. In the Kremlin, launching a propaganda machine on full move, sowing hatred and alienation from Europe, will also come from the thought that isolationism is no longer a lot of people for wide popular masses, but fate. However, Crimea paved a line beyond which a normal dialogue is impossible, and Russia sails further from the European continent. This, unfortunately, is an objective process, and the longer the current power will last, the further the paths of Russia and Europe will disperse, and the sense of mutual loss will only weaken over the years, replacing a sense of mutual relief. The long -awaited and essentially infinitely sad news will become commonplace.
