Russian Post began servicing Crimea and Sevastopol

Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Post of Russia" today began to serve customers from the Crimea of ​​Sevastopol, Interfax reports .

"Russian Post has sent letters to postal operators of countries participating in the World Postal Covenant that the postal operator of the Russian Federation is ready to accept and deliver postal items addressed to the territory of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol," the company said in a press release.

The Russian postal operator guaranteed its foreign colleagues the conduct of mutual settlements at the rates established by the Universal Postal Union for Russia.

In addition, the company's message notes that all post offices in Crimea are operating as normal.

From now on, when sending mail to residents of Crimea, it is necessary to indicate in the address bar the country of receipt - "Russia", as well as a new index on the territory of the affiliated entities, adding the number "2" to the previous Ukrainian indices, the postal operator clarifies.

Earlier today, Ukrposhta announced a temporary cessation of the company's work in Crimea and Sevastopol due to the "forceful seizure" of subjects and the "blocking of all Ukrposhta postal offices."
