On April 4, the Federal Migration Service announced that a bill would be submitted to the State Duma in the near future, which provides for mandatory fingerprinting of migrant children from the age of twelve.

Recently, in Russia, many laws have been adopted only in order to complicate someone's life or do dirty tricks. And the proposed bill on the fingerprinting of migrant children is exactly in this category. He does not pursue any other goals. Moreover, since December 2012, 20 amendments to the migration legislation have already been adopted, and all of them are of a repressive nature. Migration officials and deputies explain their zeal by saying that illegal migration must finally be regulated. Who is arguing with this? But this problem is not solved by repressive methods.

Taking fingerprints from children is completely pointless. I had to get acquainted with the results of American studies, which showed that 40% of fingerprinting experts make mistakes when reconciling the results. In addition, there are cases when the drawings on the palms themselves coincide. What do we get if we are going to compare the prints of a twelve-year-old child with his prints at the age of sixty? And then, the same imprint can be found in a completely different person. As a mathematician, I understand that when making any decision, first of all, you need to calculate the risks of a possible error. And if we also take into account our corruption and habit of abuse ... So, maybe we will take pity on the children?
