© Paramount Pictures Frame from the movie "Noah"The Malaysian authorities banned the show of the film by Darren Aronofsky “Noah”, since it contradicts Islam.
It is reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to the statement of the State Commission on Cinema Consult.
“We did not allow the film“ Noah ”to the film distribution to protect the feelings of believers and preserve harmony in our multinational and multi -confessional country,” said the head of the commission Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid. The population of Malaysia exceeds 29 million people, 60% of them profess Islam.
The picture of Aronofsky tells the story of the Old Testament Patriarch Noah, which is revered as a prophet in Islam. The main role was played by Russell Crowe. In addition, Jennifer Konnoli (Noema), Douglas But (SIM), Logan Lerman (Ham), Emma Watson (Ila) and Anthony Hopkins (Mafusail) starred in the film. On March 27, the “Noah” was released in the Russian rental.
Previously, the show was banned in the Middle East and Indonesia. Censors explained their decision by the fact that the Muslim tradition does not allow the images of the prophets and messengers of Allah.
