Prokhorov finally refused the development of "Yo-Mobile"

The ONEXIM group Mikhail Prokhorov finally abandoned the project of a hybrid car - Yo -Mobil, Kommersant reports . According to the publication in the company, all technologies, design documentation and exclusive rights to know-how to develop the body and chassis of the car were transferred for the symbolic 1 euro of the State Institute for us.

The contract on the transfer of rights was signed on April 3. "ONEXIM" also intends to sell the workshop in St. Petersburg. The decision in the company was explained by a sharp increase in equipment prices due to the weakening of the ruble and the decline in the car market. In which project it will be possible to use the “Yo-Mobile” platform, the state has not yet been determined.

"The conjuncture of the car market of the Russian Federation and the general situation in the economy has changed significantly, the weakening of the ruble sharply increased the cost of production," said Valery Senko, director of the ONEXIM investment. He explained this by the fact that most of the equipment was planned to be purchased abroad. Against the backdrop of falling demand, the effectiveness of the project has become unobvious, noted Senko. Therefore, it was decided to transfer the achievements of the state. “Yo-Auto” will only retain the EO brand.

"We received offers from foreign companies on the sale of technology, but a fundamental decision was made to leave them in Russia," says Senko. The deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Alexei Rakhmanov, informed the publication that the Ministry and us "with gratitude took the transfer of technology." "We will analyze their achievements and then make a decision in which projects they can be useful," he said.

In December 2010, Prokhorov introduced three valid sample of a hybrid car , called "Yo-Mobile"-hatchback, van and cross-wrapping. The businessman announced the development of the “People’s Car” project at the beginning of 2010. It was planned that gasoline or gas will serve as fuel for the car, and electric motorists will also work together with the internal combustion engine.

In April 2011, Vladimir Putin, who then held the post of prime minister, tested the sports cross-coup "Yo-Mobile" . Before you drive a car, Putin talked with the head of "Yo-Auto" Andrei Biryukov. In particular, he asked how much a new car would cost. Biryukov said that in full configuration the cost of a car will be 450 thousand rubles. Biryukov then said that the first serial cars should appear by September 2012.

Under the project of a hybrid “Yo-mobile” with a gas-bean engine and an electric transmission, the YO-AUTO joint venture was created (51 percent of ONEXIM, 49-at the Yarovita Andrei Biryukov). “ONEKIM” and “Yarovit” owned “Yo-Auto” through the Luxembourg City Car Investments. Now “ONEKSIM” already owns 85 percent of the shares of the joint venture.

In 2011, a plant was laid near St. Petersburg for the production of "yo-mobiles". Investments in the two stages of the enterprise were estimated at 260 million euros. Last year, Prokhorov announced the beginning of the serial production of "Yo-Mobiles" in the second half of 2014. In February, the head of the Petersburg Promo Policy Committee Maxim Meyksin said that the project was postponed indefinitely.
