The speaker of the Crimean State Council will lead the local branch of United Russia

The speaker of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov will become the only candidate for the post of head of the Crimean branch of United Russia. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the representative of Crimea in the Council of the Federation of Sergei Tsekov.

“This is an absolutely logical decision,” Tsecov said .

Vladimir Konstantinov headed the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea within Ukraine. In March 2014, the Armed Forces was renamed the State Council, Konstantinov continued to lead the legislative body of autonomy. From March 2010 to March 2014, Konstantinov led the regional cell of the Party of Regions.
