The head of state today spoke at the expanded college of the FSB. He thanked the security forces for a good job, and talked about the main existing threats, Interfax reports .

First of all, Putin thanked the security forces for ensuring security at major international events, Tauh as the World Universiade in Kazan, the meeting of “twenty” in St. Petersburg, as well as the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi.

“We also know about the threats that sounded to our country from various kinds of terrorist and extremist groups, their patrons. In anticipation of these events, Russia was frankly trying to intimidate and blackmail, today we can already say that the built multi -level system of ensuring the safety of the Olympics and other forums worked effectively, ”Putin said.

The President believes that the Federal Security Service should actively carry out "anti -extremic work" in the information space.

“Over the past year alone, the activities of more than 400 terrorist and radical sites were suppressed, and such anti -extremist work in the information space should continue consistently,” Putin said, speaking at the expanded collegium of the FSB of the Russian Federation on Monday.

Putin recalled the attacks on the sites of state bodies.

“Last year, more than 9 million were discovered and suppressed, as experts are expressed, targeted impacts on sites and information systems of state authorities of the Russian Federation. And you need to be prepared for the fact that such attempts to invade our information field, of course, will continue, ”Putin said.

However, offline terrorism is still not completely defeated, the president admitted, recalling the tragedy in Volgograd at the end of last year.

“Extremist radical groups are trying to activate their activities not only in the North Caucasus, but also to transfer it to other regions of our country, to the Volga region, Central Russia, and strive to provoke interethnic and inter -religious conflicts,” Putin said.

Putin believes that Russians who participate in the hostilities in Syria pose a particular threat.

“There is every reason to believe that then they can be abandoned against Russia, against our neighbors in the Commonwealth, we must be ready for this, have the whole arsenal of preventive measures,” the head of state said.

However, in general, the president is satisfied with the work of his former colleagues. Which, according to tradition, noted the quantitative enumeration of achievements.

“Over the past year alone, thanks to the efforts of the security authorities, the activities of 46 personnel employees of special services of foreign states and 258 agents were suppressed,” Putin said.

The President called on the intelligence agencies not to relax and continue to strengthen the country's secret defense on all fronts.
